High Places

In 1991 I was in the hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. I had almost died of kidney failure and was on the mend. I had received a blood transfusion and was feeling better than I had for years. I was sitting up playing my guitar in the hallway when God gave me this song. It references the book "Hinds Feet on High Places". That night I was in the wing where there were many AIDS patients and I sang a couple over to the other side. The next day family members came and thanked me. Goes to show that when God is blessing us we really have no idea how many times the blessing is multiplied and shared.

Take me to the High Places where cool waters flow
Crisp air renews my spirit
Your touch heals my soul

Chorus
I'll follow you Lord
Wherever you lead
I'll do all that you ask of me
I'll shine your light for all to see
and by your grace
I'll follow you faithfully

I'll remember the peace you've put in me
through the pain and strife
I'll carry your joy in my heart
and we will never part
Until we cross that river
and up the climb we go, I'll sing... (chorus)

With your joy in my song, with your love in my heart,
with your light in my spirit,
I'll follow you Lord...
